GIFT PLANNING Opportunities

Bequest:  A Gift to Charity Made in Your Will or Living Trust

    • A simple way to support your favorite cause and leave a legacy.
    • It is revocable by you at any time during your lifetime if your situation changes.

            Did You Know?

    • A bequest might not be received by the charity for many years.  How and when you notify a charity is up to you.
    • A bequest gift can be given without restrictions or earmarked for a specific purpose

Life Insurance:  Name a Charity as the Beneficiary

    • Life insurance allows donors to leverage their resources while providing a generous gift for charity.
    • You can maintain ownership of the policy and name a charity as the beneficiary, maintaining the flexibility to change beneficiaries at any time.

Did You Know?

    • An existing policy can be donated by making a charity the owner, and you receive a tax deduction for the value of the policy.
    • Gifts of insurance that are not fully paid up are generally cashed out by the charity if you are not willing or able to continue making payments.
    • Term policies (often provided as an employment benefit) can also name a charity as a beneficiary.
    • Ownership of existing or new policies on your life can be transferred to Acacia with Acacia receiving the death benefits.  Certain income tax deductions are allowed.
